Workshop on Eliminating Lead Paint in Rwanda

As part of the 2025 International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (ILPPW), the Association Rwandaise des Ecologistes (ARECO-RWANDA NZIZA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Rwanda Standards Board, Rwanda Environment Management Authority, and Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition and Consumer Protection Authority, is organizing a national workshop focused on accelerating the elimination of lead paint in Rwanda.
Taking place on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, at Five to Five Hotel, this multi-stakeholder event is supported by the Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP) and aligns with this year’s global campaign theme: “No Safe Level: Act Now to End Lead Exposure.” The workshop aims to review progress, share updated data, and co-develop actionable recommendations that will strengthen national policies and promote the transition to lead-free paint production and use.
The event will bring together representatives from government institutions, development partners, civil society, academia, the private sector, and the media to reaffirm their commitment to protecting public health—especially that of children—through collaborative and urgent action against lead exposure.
